Finally at the end of an arduous journey, those traveling the Oregon Trail of the mid 1850's ended up in Oregon City just north of present day Canby. After arrival in the late fall the pioneers would set out in many directions from this Northern point of the Willamette Valley hoping to beat the comming winter weather in the search of a new life.
Having just completed the "Oregon Trail", thousands of early settlers passed through Canby as they set out on the last leg of their journey.
