Two of Portlands bridges are quite unique.
The Steel Bridge can lift its rail section independant of the roadway and the Hawthorn is the oldest vertical lift bridge in the country. Six of Portlands seventeen area bridges are movable (draw) bridges, including the I-5 Interstate over the Columbia.
