So as to not bore you- I will make it quick! Large buildings benefit greatly by precise control of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) environmental systems in optimizing comfort, reliability, and energy use. Modern computer systems can now provide that control.

All operations and monitoring are accomplished through a local network system of proprietary equipment. It’s similar to a robot- in that the building comes alive through automation. The capabilities in control, monitoring notification, trending, and alarming is limitless. The system can email you, talk to you, page you, or call you with information on what going on. It can make instant decisions on what to do to recover and protect the system and equipment. It will keep track of everything that has, is, and will be happing. Even more recently HTML front ends (like what you see on the Internet) and actual Internet networking has become accepted as the forward trend.

So my work includes but is not limited to- designing, programming, installing, and troubleshooting these systems. Once installed I can gain access by computer, even sitting in traffic from my truck. But it's really nothing more than a bunch of wires and computer parts, kinda like what’s under your feet right now.
